Microsoft Purview had been selected as the core platform, but technology alone would not deliver effective governance. The department also needed clear ownership, practical processes and consistent controls across its business domains.
AJEKA worked with the department's data and technology teams to implement Microsoft Purview and establish a practical data governance operating model.
We securely connected managed data sources, automated metadata scanning and lineage, and established more than 30 segregated governance domains.
A central business glossary was created with plain-language definitions for more than 1,000 data concepts. Data quality rules, roles, responsibilities and ongoing governance activities were embedded into day-to-day operations.
AJEKA also developed bulk-curation tooling to apply metadata consistently across domains, significantly reducing manual effort.
